James Henry Reid of Scotland, arrived in Ceylon 1815 - 1820 with regiment of Gordon Highlanders, On discharge settled as a coffee planter in Pussellawa. When the estate was destroyed by ?fire ?drought he started a stage coach business with veterinary facilities for horses between Gampola and Pussellawa, married Betty Kenton daughter of James Kenton of Ireland, coffee planter ??
