There are two St Michaels in Tripoli, one in the city proper, built in 1889, near the old College des Freres, , and one in El-Koubbeh, built in 1926 to accomodate the Maronite community expanding from the old Christian Quarter also known as Haret es-Saydeh.

The records were saved from the destruction and fire of the civil war, by the diligent act of father Louis Chahla who took posession of these records, and stored them in his home at his mountain village of Toula, near Ehden.

The St. Michael's church records are contained in some dozen books, dating back to the late 1800's, and I guess these were records transfered from Haret es-Saydeh. In the summer of 1999, I have recorded some entires from these records which I list below:

- On 27 Sept 1891, Salim son of Hanna Dib Lattouf married Reda daughter of Ibrahim Baraket. Best Man Assaad Youssef Hadchiti, Maid of Honor was Mariam, wife of Ibrahim Faddoul.

- On 08 Dec 1892 Mariam daughter of Salim Hanna Dib Lattouf was baptized. Godfather was Assaad Youssef Hadchiti, Godmother was Mariam, wife of Ibrahim Faddoul.

- On 11 May 1884 Khalil baptized Natonious Badwi Khoury. Godmother was Foutit wife of Francis Chbeir.

- On 20 Jan 1892, Assaad son of Hanna Dib Lattouf married Marianna daughter of Tannous Chahine. Best man his brother Khalil. Maid of Honor Mariam wife of Ibrahim Faddoul.

- On 20 Mar 1891 Marianna, wife of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, baptized Saydeh Youssef Rameh. Godfather was Moussa Akkari.

- On 26 Mar 1892 Marianna, wife of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, baptized Mariam Youssef Toulani. Godfather was Youssef Semrani.

- On 08 Sep 1892 Marianna, wife of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, baptized Antonious Moussa Akkari. Godfather was Assaad Hadchiti.

- On 21 Jul 1902 Marianna, wife of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, was Maid of Honor to Salim Hanna Khoury and Salma Bechara Tannouri. Best Man was Youssef Tannous Chahine.

- On 25 Mar 1904 Marianna, wife of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, baptized Saydeh Salim Hanna Khoury. Godfather was Youssef Tannous Chahine.

- On 18 Feb 1909 Assaad baptized Michael Habib Semaan Beirouni. Godmother was Banout wife of Fiyad Khalifeh.

- On 22 Jan 1911, Najibeh daugther of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf (16 years old) married Youssef Tannous Tannouri ( 24 years old ).

- On 26 Feb 1911, Asma daughter of Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf (15 years old) married Doumit son of Michael Abou Tamer (24 years old). Maid of Honour was Asma wife of Youssef Tannous Chahine and daughter of Antonious Breidi, in the presence of Khoury Hanna Dib Lattouf, Assaad Hadchiti, Antonious Ibrahim Zablit, Elias Hanna Dib Lattouf, and Khalil Hanna Faddoul .

- On 22 Jun 1913, was baptized Marta (??) daughter of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 20 May 1912. Godmother was Asma wife of Tannous Chahine .

- On 08 Nov 1919, was baptized Mariam (??) daughter of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 10 Aug 1919.

- On 19 Oct 1921, was baptized Badwi son of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 28 Jul 1921. Godfather Antonious Youssef Akkari, Godmother Asma wife Youssef Chahine.

- On 26 Mar 1922, was baptized Badwiyeh daughter of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 15 Mar 1928 (1922 ??). Godmother was Wadiaah daughter of Youssef Chahine .

- On 10 Feb 1924, was baptized Haifa daughter of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 21 Dec 1923. Godmother was Wadiaah wife of Antonious Hanna Dib Lattouf ( who is this unknown cousin ?? ) .

- On 28 Aug 1929, was baptized Romanos son of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 01 Dec 1928. Godmother Jamileh wife of Youssef Zahhoul.

- On 15 Jan 1933, was baptized Theresia (??) daughter of Doumit Michael Tamer and Asma Assaad Hanna Dib Lattouf, born on 20 Dec 1931. Godmother Jamileh (Najibeh) her (Asma's) sister.

- On 21 Jul 1935, Badwiyeh Doumit Tamer ( 18 years old ) married Said Michael Jreige es-Sous from Aitou (emigrant in Peoria) in the bride's house in Koubbeh, in the presence of Khoury Youhanna Dib, Doumit Matar, and Youssef son of Khoury Hanna Dib.
