Saint Michael's Maronite Catholic Church of Koubbeh, Tripoli, Lebanon
Patron Saint of the Police
Saint Michael
Is the leader of the angels who remained
faithful to God in the battle against Satan. He overcame Lucifer and the
bad angels were cast into Hell. The Archangel is shared by Muslims,
Christians and Jews. Writings about him occur in all three cultures. He is
also shared by many professionals... police and emergency workers,
paratroopers, radiologists... even bakers! He is said to be able to get
souls out of hell, and will assist judging on Judgement day. Michael is
often depicted with a sword in hand, battling
evil.
